More about Mike

Just like his creativity, Mike Cliffen has evolved over the years.

A lifelong Lanark County native, he has worn many hats: husband, father, lawyer, marathon runner, dog lover, town counsellor, grandfather, craftsman, chocolate lover, and most recently in retirement, painter.

When he doesn’t have a paintbrush in hand, Mike can be found running, cycling with his kids, relaxing with his wife, Karen, or fishing at the cottage with his loyal border collie, Lucy.

Mike’s artwork can be experienced in person at the Lighthouse Cafe in Smiths Falls. His paintings are also featured yearly at the Smiths Falls Art Crawl and the Heritage House Artist Series, where he has won the 2025 People’s Choice awards for Favourite Overall Artist and Favourite Artwork
